    LGI Shared Services is currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join the Finance Team at the Ankeny, IA location. LGI is an exciting privately held corporation with a history of exceptional growth, consisting of seven separate business units with manufacturing facilities worldwide. The company is primarily engaged in the manufacture of edible and nonedible protein products. The individual is responsible for the fixed asset processes and reporting for multiple entities within the organization. This person will work with the accounting team and business partners to identify areas for process improvements while focusing on efficiencies and providing value to management.

     

     

    Job Duties:

    • Responsible for fixed asset reporting and tracking:
    • Work with multiple business partners to obtain project details and monitor expenditures against budget for construction in progress for domestic capital projects
    • Reconcile capital expenditures and construction in progress balances within the accounting system
    • Report monthly on status of capital projects in process, including both domestic and international locations
    • Work with business partners to ensure capital projects are capitalized at the appropriate time
    • Prepare monthly depreciation calculation
    • Implement process to assign asset tags to physical assets & periodically audit the assets
    • Partner with the business to properly account for fixed asset sales, disposals and write-offs
    • Prepare fixed asset documentation for tax and audit reporting
    • Assist in calculating deferred tax asset balances related to fixed assets
    • Prepare, communicate and ensure compliance with fixed asset policies
    • Implement internal controls to facilitate the accounting for fixed assets
    • Maintain fleet titles, licenses and registrations
    • Tracking and accounting for corporate inventory movements
    • Responsible for property tax accruals, payments, and related programs
    • Lead the process for tracking and reporting of information related to state financial incentive programs
    • Responsible for properly accounting for commissions, including maintaining proper accruals and periodic payments
    • Responsible for ensuring prepaid items are properly accounted for according to Company policy, including monthly amortization of balances
    • Responsible for mobile phone cost allocation, reporting, and bi-annual audit of users
    • Reconcile account balances related to areas of responsibility
    • Identify and understand any fluctuations in account balances related to areas of responsibility
    • Responsible for US Census Bureau reporting for domestic entities
    • Assist in implementation of new lease accounting guidance under US GAAP
    • Finance contact for entering purchase requisitions
    • Continuously strive to streamline processes and implement process improvements
    • Generate ad hoc reports as requested
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Job Requirements

    • General financial/accounting knowledge and ability to ensure fully functioning and accurate accounting processes.
    • General knowledge of accounting standards and procedures.
    • Ability to analyze complex and varied financial data and produce required financial reports.
    • Ability to input and access a variety of computer data, especially financial information.
    • Ability to research/compile/analyze and interpret data.
    • Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality related to all duties and responsibilities.
    • Ability to apply complex accounting formulas and/or perform complex mathematical calculations.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to organize large amounts of data in a manner that is easy for others to understand.
    • Ability to work with other related projects as requested by management.

    Job Qualifications

    Education:

     

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

    CPA designation a plus

     

    Experience:

     

    Strong Excel skills required

    One to three years accounting experience required

    FAS (Fixed Asset Software) experience desired

    Experience designing and running queries desired

    Experience working with datacubes a plus

    Experience with AS400 a plus
